Raphael Marreiros, M.D.
Psychiatrist and psychotherapist in Tel Aviv-Yafo.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, major life transitions and a range of other psychiatric concerns. My approach is patient-centered, collaborative and thoughtful, integrating evidence-based medication with psychotherapy when appropriate.
My work is grounded in helping patients deepen self-understanding and recognize the patterns that shape their lives - so they can live a more serene and joyful life.
About
My clinical work is shaped by a step-by-step path that began in the field of neuroscience, then moved into medical training, and ultimately into specialized psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care.
I completed medical school (M.D.) at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Beer Sheva), through a partnership program with Columbia University in New York (2019).
I then trained in psychiatry at the Beer Yaacov Mental Health Center, developing broad experience in acute and outpatient settings, diagnostic formulation, and evidence-based treatment planning. Alongside psychiatric training, I completed advanced studies in psychodynamic psychoterapy, which inform my integrative clinical work.
During the war, I served as a medical officer and as Head Command Psychiatrist in the Israel Defense Forces, leading psychiatric care across the Northern, Southern, and Central Commands.
Today, I bring these experiences together to offer careful evaluation, collaborative treatment planning, and individualized ongoing care—tailored to each person’s history, context, and priorities.
Approach
Psychiatry is not only about medication. It is about understanding, precision, and building a plan that supports your goals.
When medication is indicated, benefits, risks, and alternatives are discussed, and response is monitored carefully over time - keeping treatment as simple and supportive as possible.
Therapy can help you understand patterns—how they formed, how they repeat, and what becomes possible when they are recognized - supporting both symptom relief and deeper self-understanding.
When helpful, care can also include lifestyle interventions - sleep hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, and mindfulness/practice - chosen pragmatically and tailored to what is needed.
- Goals are defined together and revisited over time.
- Treatment is adapted to your pace, needs, and preferences.
- Progress is tracked and the plan is adjusted accordingly.
